Old LIFE magazines, back issues, covers and archive

LIFE was an iconic American weekly magazine published from 1883 to 1972 and again from 1978 to 2000.

It became very popular for the quality of its pictures. At the very beginning the magazine was developed as similar to the British magazine Punch with focus on general interest topics, light entertainment, jokes and social commentary. At its peak the magazine sold more than 13,5 million copies weekly. Interesting to know the motto of the first issue was "While there's Life, there's hope."
