  • 01 Apr 2001 A US Navy EP-3E surveillance aircraft collides into a Chinese People's Liberation Army Shenyang J-8 fighter plane. The Navy crew made an emergency landing in Hainan (People's Republic of China) and was taken into custody.

  • 07 Apr 2001 Timothy Thomas, a 19 year-old African-American is shot in Cincinnati by a Cincinnati police officer. This incident sparked riots in downtown Cincinnati between April 10 and April 12.
