- 03 Apr 2014 Pervez Musharraf, former President of Pakistan, survives an assassination attempt at Islamabad in Pakistan. There are no reports that there were any injuries.
- 04 Apr 2014 South Korea tests a new ballistic missile that has a range 500 km. It hopes to increase its range to 800 km so it can reach any part of North Korea.

- 19 Apr 2014 2014 South Korean ferry capsize: 32 people died in the accident. Two bodies were found in the ocean and three inside the ferry's cabin. The ferry was completely submerged yesterday. (Yonhap.) The South Korean government is considering declaring Ansan a special disaster area.

- 21 Apr 2014 South Sudan conflict: UN condemns "Targeted Killings", and the wounding of hundreds civilians, based on their ethnic origins. This happened in Bentiu last week after South Sudanese rebels took control of the oil hub.
- 22 Apr 2014 2014 pro-Russian unrest Ukraine: Simon Ostrovsky, a Russian-born journalist and American-Israeli citizen, is reported to have been abducted by the militia led by separatist pro-Russian leader Vyacheslav ponomarev in Sloviansk.
- 23 Apr 2014 Ukrainian security officials discovered that the Assumption monastery Lavra of Moscow Patriarchate was used as a military base by pro-Russian insurgents, who have occupied the region.
- 24 Apr 2014 According to the Ukrainian government, it has retaken control of Mariupol's city hall from pro-Russian separatists. At least 12 towns in Eastern Ukraine have seen their administrative buildings taken over.

- 27 Apr 2014 Egyptian court sentences 11 supporters deposed President Mohammed Morsi, who were rioting, to five-year to 88-year prison terms.

- 29 Apr 2014 2014 pro-Russian unrest Ukraine:: Prorussian militants seize the headquarters of the regional administration in Luhansk, Ukraine. This triggered a standoff between the militants as well as security personnel.
- 30 Apr 2014 Al-Qaeda insurgency: At least 30 people were killed in clashes between Al-Qaeda, the Yemen Army and Al-Qaeda.
- 02 Apr 2014 A spree shooting occurs at the Fort Hood army base in Texas, with four dead, including the gunman, and 16 others injured.
