  • 02 Mar 2014 2014 Crimean crisis, 2014 Ukrainian Revolution: Denis Berezovsky, Ukraine's Navy commander in chief, defected to the Russia-backed Crimea government. (Ria Novosty via inSerbia). Ukraine's acting president Oleksandr Turkchynov claims that Ukraine's airspace is closed to non-civilian aircraft.

  • 04 Mar 2014 Russian President Vladimir Putin speaks at a press conference. He stated that "force isn’t necessary right now" after having deployed roughly 16,000 troops in Crimea.
