Ukraine's acting president Oleksandr Turkchynov claims that Ukraine's airspace is closed to non-civilian aircraft.

  • 04 Mar 2014 Russian President Vladimir Putin speaks at a press conference. He stated that "force isn’t necessary right now" after having deployed roughly 16,000 troops in Crimea.
  • 05 Mar 2014 2014 Crimean crisis: UN Envoy Robert Serry ordered to flee Crimea under gunpoint by 10 armed men. (AP) Washington-based anchor Liz Wahl resigns from RT, a Russian-backed news channel. She claims she can't be part of a network "that whitewashes Vladimir Putin's actions".
