Il manga, pubblicato in Italia dalla Planet Manga con il titolo L'incrociatore stellare Nadesico, è significativamente differente dalla sua controparte animata, che invece è arrivata in Italia grazie alla Dynit. Dopo la fine della serie è stato prodotto anche il film Mobile Battleship Nadesico the Movie - Il principe delle tenebre.
