  • RTE Prime Time investigates Garda Siochana (the Republic of Ireland's police force) for allegedly abusing people who were arrested. Gardai is accused by Dick Roche, the Irish Minister of State, of torturing one student who was beaten in a Dublin police station. A former judge also accuses police officers of perjury in his courts. All allegations are denied by the Gardai.
  • After finding no substance, the United States pulls out a group comprising 400 inspectors of weapons from Iraq. There are still 1400 inspectors.
  • Occupation in Iraq: Nine American soldiers were reported to have been killed by a Black Hawk helicopter that made an emergency landing close to Falluja, a central Iraqi city.
  • Carnegie Endowment for International Peace published a report accusing America of "systematically misrepresenting the threat posed" by "Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction".
