  • 20 Sep 2014 Shia insurgency: Fighting between army and Houthi rebels continues for the third day in Yemeni capital Sana'a. 123 people have been killed and hundreds forced to flee their homes.
  • 21 Sep 2014 Shia insurgency within Yemen: The Yemeni government signs an agreement with the Shia Houthi rebels to end the political crisis. As the rebels advance towards Sana'a, the prime minister Mohammed Basindwa quits. Rebels will then nominate a new prime Minister within three days.
  • 22 Sep 2014 Siemens AG, a German conglomerate, announces its plans to buy Dresser-Rand Group Inc, an American oilfield equipment manufacturer for US$7.6 Billion.
  • 23 Sep 2014 2014 military intervention against ISIS, Syria -- The United States and its allies begin air strikes against Islamic State, Syria. Reports indicate that at least 120 people have been killed. (BBC),

  • 25 Sep 2014 Syrian Civil War: A number of rebel groups in Syria sign an agreement to join forces against President Bashar al-Assad and the Islamic State of Iraq.
  • 26 Sep 2014 According to the People's Republic of China, 50 people were killed in violence that occurred in Xinjiang's western province.
  • 27 Sep 2014 Japan's Mount Ontake volcano explodes, leaving 250 people stranded. At least 8 people are injured and forcing planes to divert their routes.
  • 28 Sep 2014 2014 military intervention against ISIS. The al-Nusra Front threatens to retaliate against countries participating in air strikes against Islamic State.
  • 29 Sep 2014 War in Donbass - At least 12 people are killed in renewed clashes between pro-Russian rebels, Ukrainian government troops and the proverbial Ukrainian rebels at Donetsk International Airport. This is the worst outbreak of violence since September's ceasefire agreement.
