  • Sep 7th, 2018 Syrian Civil War: Presidents of Russia, Iran and Russia disagree with the Turkish President's proposal for a ceasefire at Idlib following a meeting in Tehran. This would not include Islamist militants that these nations seek to defeat.
  • Sep 7th, 2017 Israeli involvement in the Syrian Civil War. It is believed that Israeli jets attacked a military research center near Masyaf in Hama Governorate. At least two soldiers from the Syrian Army were killed. Rumours claimed that the facility contained chemical weapons.
  • Sep 7th, 2016 Syrian civil war: More than 100 people were injured by a chlorine attack in Aleppo Tuesday. One person is killed by the blast of barrel bombs.
  • Sep 7th, 2015 Turkey-PKK conflict - Turkish jets strike PKK militant posts across south-east Turkey, northern Iraq, and deploy special forces to the Iraqi frontier following a deadly PKK attack that left at least 16 Turkish soldiers killed.
  • Sep 7th, 2014 2014 Iraq conflict: In an effort to defend the Haditha Dam, the United States launches new airstrikes against ISIS in western Iraq.

  • Sep 7th, 2008 The US government has taken over American mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, due to their economic risk. These two companies are responsible for almost half of all home mortgages in America. The Federal Housing Finance Agency will manage the two companies until they are decided on their long-term future. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac jointly own or guarantee approximately US$5.3 trillion in mortgages. They have also suffered a combined loss around US$14 billion over the past year.
  • Sep 7th, 2007 2007 Lebanon conflict: After ending a three-month conflict in Nahr el-Bared with Fatah al-Islam militants, the Lebanese Army declared victory.
