Abe is currently leading polls by 30% over Sadakazu Tanigaki and Taro Aso.
  • For the Nunatsiavut General Election, nominations are being invited. The election will take place on October 3, 2006. VOCM
  • Iranian Navy seizes control over a Romanian oil well in the Persian Gulf. At 7 AM local, Iran took control over the radio room. Tabanescu stated that the Iranians had fired machine guns at the crane of the rig. Ampquot They are now in control and we cannot contact the rig. There were 26 people onboard.
