  • Jul 23rd, 2019 Venezuelan foreign relations: The Lima Group, through Jorge Faurie (Argentine Foreign Affairs Minister), stated that the Lima Group will "repeal force when necessary".
  • Jul 23rd, 2018 2018 Attica wildfires - Wildfires in Attica, Greece caused by wildfires that erupted on August 7, 2018, killed at least 76 people and left 172 others injured. They also destroyed hundreds of homes and vehicles. This prompted a state emergency. The Greek government asks for assistance from the European Union.
  • Jul 23rd, 2017 Syrian Civil War: Six civilians are killed and 19 more injured when the Russian air force bombs Zor Shamr Camp and Madan, south and east from Raqqa in Syria with cluster bombs. The nearby Alburamadan was also hit; no casualties have been reported.
  • Jul 23rd, 2016 Munich shooting, 2016: Munich Police Chief Hubertus andrae identified the attacker as a dual-national Iranian-German 18-year-old who apparently acted alone. His head was shot by a gunshot to the head, and he was later found dead. (Reuters)Chief Andrae says there are no indications that the teenager gunman who shot and killed nine people, as well as himself, was connected to ISIL or any other terrorist group. The attack left 27 people injured.
  • Jul 23rd, 2015 Turkey launches fighter jets, and Turkish tanks fire on ISIS positions at the border with Syria. This follows an exchange of fire that left one Turkish soldier injured and one Turkish soldier killed. These clashes were the first direct fighting between ISIS and Turkish forces. Multiple reports have indicated that Turkish ground forces crossed the official border into Syria.
  • Jul 23rd, 2014 Alexander Khodakovsky, a pro-Russian separatist commander from the Vostok Battalion, confirms that rebels had the BUK missile systems - thought to have shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17-- which originated in Russia. It could have been sent back to Russia to remove any evidence of its presence.
