- André Franquin: Belgian comic strip author. In 1945 he started to work for the publisher Dupuis, well known in Europe for his specialty of cartoons, where he was given the task of resuming the series "Spirou and Fantasio," which was published in 23 volumes. In 1952 he created the "Marsupilami" character, then in 1957, his anti-hero, "Gaston Lagaffe," a lazy, creative and superb blunderer. The strip retained such popularity that the series came out in 18 albums in 1997 to celebrate the 40th birthday of Gaston.
- Marv Myers: American cartoonist, noted for his cartoon collection, "Zodiac Humor," which was published by Astro-Analytics a few years ago. He currently draws the wine-tasting cartoon in the Los Angeles Times. He illustrated Phyllis Diller's comic strip "Phyllis and Fang" in the late 1960s.
