• According to documents filed before a United States bankruptcy court, Pacific Gas & Electric was not able reach a settlement agreement with its creditors regarding billions of dollars it owes pursuant to power purchase contracts. PG&E would prefer that the matter be settled by the bankruptcy court, rather than the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
• Mississippi River Floods: Alton in Illinois builds a barrier wall to keep the Mississippi River from rising to levels never seen since 1993 floods. (Chicago Tribune). The Mississippi River rises to the highest level since 1993 floods in Iowa and Illinois at the Quad Cities. (Chicago Tribune). Flooding from Michigan to South damages homes and sends Mississippi River to a record 157-year high at Davenport in Iowa.
